An in-depth look at our work
This beautiful design for an Agricultural work was completed in 2009. It consists of a high insulated timber frame, complete with an Oil Fired Underfloor Heating system. The project took in to account many factors that helped make it a very energy efficient design. The green timber cladding blends well into countryside and the main large glazed façade faces west and north west, giving panoramic views up valley the towards the setting sun.
Energy Performance Certificate Rating Category A.
A Corporate HQ for Hunter Construction consisting of a workshop, offices and a Storage Yard, completed in 2009. The offices are constructed with steel frame, with a highly insulated timber frame infill, creating a highly energy efficient building. The office windows are orientated to capture passive solar gain.
The design also includes the use of: triple glazed timber windows, aluminium cladding, preservative stain softwood cladding, Wood Pellet fuelled Biomass Boiler, Underfloor Heating, Solar Panels for Domestic Hot Water, Rainwater harvesting for onsite processes (Vehicle Washing) and Toilet Flush.

A replacement house built in 2009 in the Countryside. Consent was obtained following an appeal to the Secretary of State. A highly insulated and very energy efficient design, with an Energy Performance Certificate of Rating B+. Constructed from timber frame, with an oil fired underfloor heating system. The design utilised reused materials from demolished Farm Buildings and House. and was designed to look like converted farm building. The interior was designed to resemble a barn, with a large oak beams, and the heavy oak stair that gives that rustic charm. Large Glazed windows face west and have perfect uninterrupted panoramic views from Fintray to Lochnagar and Bennachie.
Energy Performance Certificate Category B
Here we have offices for a workshop completed in 2010 (Workshop extension completed 2008), part of six property Industrial Portfolio. A steel structural frame with timber frame infill panels, highly insulated and very energy efficient. Ground Source Heat Pumps are used for the heating, using 18 boreholes, filled with Bentonite. Exterior clad in softwood boarding, double glazed timber windows and a green roof; sown in grass with corporate logo inlaid in reflective white stone. Water storage pond at entrance contains water harvested from roof, water is then re-cyled to the roof. The pond also contains heat recovery connected into ground loop heat pump circuits.

Speculative Workshop and Offices, used as Distribution Store and Offices, part of six property Industrial Portfolio. The build was completed in 2003. Westmorland Slate to Ground Floor frontage, Ward Insulated panels elsewhere, Aluminium framed glazing, insulated doors.
